Dr. Sonja Griffen
Graduate of Palmer College
Dr. Sonja, specializing in the Activator Method, Thompson Technique, muscle testing, and Arthrostim® adjustment, emphasizes both physical and spiritual health. With 20 years at the practice, she took over ownership in 2013 from Dr. Jeffrey Pitts, the founder. Her vision is to continue Dr. Pitts’ legacy by providing preventative care in a faith-based atmosphere.

Dr. Travis Wilemon

Dr. Travis Wilemon, a Life University graduate, was born and raised in Ocala, Florida. After high school, he attended Liberty University in Virginia, where he played football and baseball and earned his B.S. degree. He then obtained his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Life Chiropractic University in Atlanta. Passionate about serving his hometown, Dr. Wilemon joined Pitts Family Chiropractic in 2004, bringing over 24 years of experience. He specializes in the Thompson Technique and Diversified Technique and believes in the body’s innate ability to heal. Married to Jessica since 2002, they have two children, Logan and Brody. In his free time, he enjoys boating with his family, golfing, hunting, and fishing.

Dr. Carol Bartholomew, a Life University graduate with over 43 years of experience in chiropractic and natural therapies, has dedicated her life to the Christian faith. She specializes in acupuncture, laser immune enhancement, cupping, and facial stress reduction, and is skilled in extremities, skull, MRI, x-ray, and CAT scan interpretation. Dr. Bartholomew established the Physician Health Center in 1981 and continues to bring her extensive expertise, wisdom, and passion to Pitts Family Chiropractic.

Dr. Lauren Schmitz

Dr. Lauren Schmitz earned her Bachelor of Science degree before graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic, where she developed a passion for family-centered chiropractic care. During her time at Palmer, she was actively involved in PX Pediatrics Club and MoPal Club, and proudly served as the Founder and President of the Applied Kinesiology Club. Dr. Schmitz utilizes a variety of chiropractic techniques to provide individualized care for patients of all ages, including Diversified, Thompson, Gonstead, Activator, TRT, and Webster techniques.
She is passionate about helping patients achieve optimal health through gentle, effective, and personalized treatment and is a Certified Shockwave Practitioner. Outside the office, Dr. Schmitz is a devoted wife and proud mother to her baby girl. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, paddle boarding, spending time with her pups, and making memories with her family.
